4:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Let your taste buds take a stroll down Bourbon Street without having to leave Bourbon Country! Maker's Mark is excited to host Dickie Brennan and his team from New Orleans at their Distillery in Loretto, KY.  The Brennan family is deeply rooted in the culinary fabric of New Orleans, with famous spots like Palace Cafe, Bourbon House, and Tableau.  Executive Chef Gus Martin, Sous Chefs Geordie Brower and Brian Steinsiek of Dickie Brennan & Co., Barry Himel, the beverage director, and Dickie himself will be sharing their delicious expertise!
The evening includes round-trip transportation, departing at 4:30pm from 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, KY.  Once arriving at Maker's Mark, you will get an after-hours tour of how they craft their bourbon, complete with a tasting then followed by a selection of hors d'oeuvres and a cocktail as you wrap up the tour.  The Maker's Mark Gift Shop will remain open late so you can try your hand at dipping a bottle into their signature red wax should you choose.
Dinner will feature four courses of Creole staples and will prominently feature seafood from The Gulf.  You will begin with Gumbo Ya-Ya.  Crawfish Ragout will follow, leading into a cast iron seared strip steak with a green peppercorn bourbon au poivre, roasted fingerling sweet potatoes, and fire pecan butter.  Of course you will finish with something sweet, and the team will offer up the Cajun specialty; Tarte a la Bouille.  All of these courses will be paired with craft cocktails created by beverage director, Barry Himel.

Don't wait, as tickets are extremely limited for this intimate, one-night-only dinner, bringing the best of New Orleans to the best of the Bluegrass!

Teams of master bartenders will be matched with an acclaimed chef and Bourbon Classic sponsor distillery – and vie for the title of “perfect cocktail” and "perfect small plate."

This year we have partnered with Kentucky Proud for this event and each small plate will include at least one Kentucky Proud product for your enjoyment.

This session will focus on three cocktails born in the first decade of the 21st century, and use them as case studies to examine how bourbon cocktails are maturing and evolving over time, as well as explore how bartenders continue to find inspiration in this distinctive American spirit.
